The Davis Instruments Front Cover for ISS Transmitter Box (with solar panel) is a replacement part for the wireless Vantage Pro 2 sensor suite.

Notes

• The latest version has a new-look solar panel, but it can be retrofitted on any wireless Vantage Pro 2 sensor suite
• Customers sometimes contact us because they are having to replace the ISS backup battery on their Vantage Pro 2 sensor suite every few months and so they think a new solar panel is required. The issue is usually with the super capacitor rather than the solar panel.  We recommend getting in touch with us before purchasing to make sure you get the right part. If you are getting data during the day then your solar panel is working fine
• If your solar panel looks pretty rough but all your data is coming through, don’t worry about replacing it as they keep working fine long after the old and scruffy stage sets in!
• Davis advise you can de-fog your solar panel by rubbing it down using a soft cloth with a mild abrasive (such as regular (not gel) toothpaste or baking soda) or a buffing compound (such as that used to clean up your car light covers) and then rinsing it with water
