Long range antenna for EnviroMonitor systems – 2 variants

SKU: N/A Categories: ,

Description

Long Range Antenna can be added to the Cellular or IP EnviroMonitor (EM) Gateways or the Node for greater transmission distances within your EnviroMonitor system.

Two options:

7676 – Long Range Antenna for EnviroMonitor – 5dBi

7678 – Long Range Antenna for EnviroMonitor – 8dBi

How they work:
  • The 5dBi and 8dBi Long Range Antenna are both standard omni-directional antenna
  • They both allow data to be transmitted over longer distances than the standard internal dipole antenna used in the Node and the Gateway
  • Can be used Node-to-Node and/or Node-to-Gateway (both cellular and IP)
  • They do not need to be used in pairs: one antenna can be added into an EM system where extra distance is required
Notes:
  • Distance does add cost. If you are unsure about your site and what is needed, please draw up a sketch with your requirements, the distances involved and details about terrain and then get in touch with us to discuss before ordering. Helping our customers find the best, cheapest solution is one of the most enjoyable aspects of the job
  • It may be that you can use another 6810 EnviroMonitor Node instead of an antenna, as the nodes can create a daisy chain network back to the EnviroMonitor Gateway. This also allows you to install another four sensors in your system, which may be useful in an orchard or similar
  • An extension cable is available
Range and reception:
  • Your transmission range can be affected by a range of site factors, such as antenna height, the terrain and foliage, buildings and other structures, and radio frequency interference
  • When speaking about transmission range, the maximum distances refer to optimal conditions. Due to minor obstructions and interference, typical distance will likely be about 50-80% of the maximum. If walls, thick shelter belts or high radio frequency interference are factors, range may drop to as low as 20-40% of the maximum
